Yueh Luo is an award winning ceramicist whose work explores the complexity of ceramic objects — the relationship between the form and the space it contains. Their relationships to each other; the curvatures and silhouettes. The embedded historical influence and the need to break out of it.

Influenced by Eastern traditions as a child, and drawn to Modernist aesthetics while growing up, she likes to challenge traditional ceramic forms, using lines, curves and negative space to construct a visual dialogue.

Surface quality is a crucial feature in her work. She researches extensively to find appropriate glazes to suit the form.
