Taking Flight marks a new beginning – a first flutter with oil paintings inspired by the birds and botanical treasures of Aotearoa. These works are an extension of a long-held passion for celebrating our natural world – bringing digital imaginings onto the canvas.
The exhibition includes a selection of digital art prints featuring beloved natives like Tūī, Pīwakawaka / Fantail, and Kōtare / Kingfisher. Greeting cards, Christmas cards, and Enamel pins will be available too, offering accessible ways to enjoy these works.
Together, the works trace a journey from digital design into paint – where each bird takes on new life, depth, and texture.
