Art Market

Save the date for ArtPoint’s inaugural Art Market — an evening celebrating local creativity in all its forms.

The ArtPoint art market will feature a variety of work from local artists and makers, from fine art, photography and ceramics to cards, badges, kids’ clothing, woodwork and plenty more.

Outside, the evening continues with food trucks and live music, and if the skies are clear, an astronomical photographer will be setting up a telescope for visitors to take a closer look at the night sky.

Come along to Catalina Bay Farmers Market, browse, eat, listen, explore and support our local creative community at the very first ArtPoint Art Market.

Shermila Siriwardana

Shermila Siriwardana is a full time artist who takes inspiration from vibrant gardens and flower-filled landscapes. Her range of original artworks will feature framed painting on papaer, acrylic paintings on canvas and a selection of fine art prints.

Matthew Collins

Matthew Collins works mainly in oil paints creating semi-abstract and surrealistic depictions of fish and birds. A full time sign maker and prop builder he uses ideas from his work in signage to make graphic and 3D pieces.

Lucy Wilson

Lucy Wilson is a multi media artist who works predominantly in acrylic and drawn media. She brings a selection of botanical-themed original works and prints varying in style and colour palettes, and also some works on canvas. Her most recent work explores biophilia (the human drive to connect with nature and other living things) through lush botannical forms, vibrant colour experiments and the exploration of light and form.

Hobsonville Music Club

The Hobsonville Music Club will present a range of original music from local singer-songwriters. Featuring Scotty B, Mona Hums, Sage Road, Sonic Duo, Saxby Munns and more local talent from around the Hobsonville Point neighbourhood.

Betty McCready

Betty McCready’s playful world of Hipster Animals brings quirky, character-led illustrations to life in the ABC Colouring Book, screen printed clothing and digital prints.

Marigold Janezic’s art is inspired by Aotearoa’s unique flora and fauna. Her native bush-inspired greeting cards, prints and pins showcase her bold and colourful work in a playful contemporary style.

Esteban Garcia is a Mexican-American contemporary artist. He offers a selection of original acrylic paintings and drawings that explore isolated human figures set in minimalist spaces.

Robbi Carvalho is a multidisciplinary artist who shares visual stories through a female gaze. Her art prints, original artworks, handmade ceramics and jewellery celebrate the complexity of womanhood, focusing on real bodies and the complexity of womanhood.

Lindsay Dawson’s series entitled “Orbital as Anything” features six 60cm-diameter works on board, using mixed media abstract acrylics incorporating collage, ink and pastels.

Smita Poddar is a mixed media artists whose passion lies in creating handcrafted textural canvas art using texture paste, acrylic paints and gold highlights. Her timeless, contemporary artworks explore a balance between nature and contemporary design.

Edward Prince

Edward Prince has been a furniture maker and designer for over 40 years. He brings his range of wooden furniture and household accessories including small tables, mirrors, bowls, bookmarks, coasters and spatulas.

Gary Stephenson

Gary Stephenson is the author of two series of thrillers as well as children’s books. His Paul Nicols series follows a former SAS operative in the style of classic British espionage fiction. The Charles Langham series infuses politics with ecological destruction in an international setting.
